Compact Tool Kit
By Mike Berger
Photos courtesy of manufacturer
Husky's new 45-piece stubby ratchet, wrench and screwdriver set ($15) is a great emergency roadside toolkit and the perfect addition to your saddlebag. Don't let its small size fool you – this kit can actually handle a wide range of jobs. Besides both 13-piece SAE and 14-piece metric socket sets, this kit includes a multi-position ratchet, a ratcheting screwdriver with 10 bits, a stubby-handled adjustable wrench, an extension bar and both 1/4- and 3/8-in. adaptors. The oversized grips on the ratchet, screwdriver and adjustable wrench make the tools easy and comfortable to work with, and the kit's plastic case keeps everything neatly organized. Looks like it would fit into my saddlebags. Interested in testing it if you need someone to test it.

I have this, or its brother, I can't see any difference in the kit. Anyway, great stuff! The case if fairly sturdy and the grips are solid enough that the grease and oil picked up in the shop have not melted anything. The mechanical parts (metal on metal) are good quality, perhaps not Snapon but above expectation for the price. I have chewed up the collar that changes drive direction on the stubby screwdriver, but that was just me not getting an extension when I should, and the collar functions fine. Two thumbs up/ +1/ whatever the normal approval phrase is here.
